This is the Book that helped  inspire the Caillou. Frederick Fenger’s Alone in the Caribbean is the account of his Island hopping journey in a boat similar to the Caillou, which was a sailing canoe called the Yakaboo. 

It’d be cool to take one of these up/down the east coast.
