Rhode Island Named Race to the Top Winner | WPRI.com
Rhode Island and Massachusetts are among the 10 winners in Phase II of the $4.35 billion federal school reform grant competition “Race to the Top.” Rhode Island, which was one of 19 finalists out of 36 applicants, will receive up to $75 million and Massachusetts will get up to $250 million, the U.S. Department of Education said Tuesday. The specifics of each winner’s award will be worked out in the coming weeks.
This is huge for us, this could change many things for so many districts in Rhode Island.
