rehfan asked: Here's my answer for ScotchandScones:
I grew up in Narragansett, RI but I've been living in FL for the past 13 years.
From what I gather, you've not been in or around RI long enough to realize that there is a certain mindset in RI (PLEASE correct me if I'm wrong!): People in RI feel that if you travel for more than 20 minutes in any direction, you...

Anonymous asked: Places I love the most in RI:
South Kingstown (I'm biased, I live here!), Newport, Narragansett, Providence, and Warwick.
I adore the ocean so Narragansett is a favorite in the summertime. I live 12 minutes from the beach :)

csherlock asked: sorry but i read your post about "if you’re going to live in RI, you should be in a town where it is easy to take advantage of Rhode Island’s most beautiful attractions." i think thats the beauty of RI, you can live anywhere and be on he other side in an hour. I personally think Providence is everything and if you need to escape drive to the south shore. i was born in...

briannasilvia asked: I'm from Middletown, and the places I love the most are the towns on the island (Newport, Middletown, and Portsmouth), Narragansett, Tiverton, and Little Compton. I just really enjoy the beaches, and the places that have absolute beauty from nature.

ninademetra asked: re: living. i second newport as a first option. if warwick has a job opportunity, look to live in EG or NK rather than in warwick. similarly, i'd rather live in a nice area of pawtucket and commute to providence (and considering that they're neighbors, it's not a big deal) than live in providence. would rather not live in cranston at all. good resource if the asker is looking to...
Anonymous asked: I'm originally from Middletown, which is essentially Newport. I go to school in Maine now and I always miss the Newport area terribly. I think that if I could live in any towns in RI, I'd pick from Newport, Middletown, Portsmouth, Tiverton, Bristol, Jamestown, Narragansett, or Westerly. I never really go into Providence, (probably because I'm an islander) but I know it has lots...

French for Garden: Wouldn't you just love to live... →
jardinanderson:
Digging through The New York Times Home & Garden archives I came across this absolute gem. “Clingstone” is a 105 year old home situated on top of a rocky outcrop in Rhode Island’s Narragansett Bay.
The 10 bedroom house is owned by an 80-something Boston architect, who bought it…
Clingstone, again.

ghettosoup asked: personally! i'd choose Providence>Cranston>Warwick. Warwick is just depressing to me and doesnt have as much going on as Providence does. I think parts of Providence and Cranston are much nicer than Warwick. But that's just my opinion.
myfingersareoff asked: I completely agree with what you said to scotchandscones. I love living in Newport, wouldn't have it any other way. :)

scotchandscones asked: Part of my extended family lives up north in Portsmouth, RI (I'm in FL). My love for the Ocean State is causing me to consider relocating. What's your opinion on living in Providence vs. Warwick vs. Cranston vs. wherever else? Just in case this helps, I'm in my early 20's, hunting for jobs in advertising, and in a relationship (I have no idea if any of this matters).
